We have now changed the night to Fridays, and what a night it was for Alpha F.C. – last week’s whipping boys!  They managed to find a couple of players, not under contract, to play for them.  There were some complaints about this, but Alpha’s captain said something about them not signing up, because they were, “followers, not leaders!”  I think what he meant to say was, “A player has the right to make a living and remember the Bosman ruling!”  Any way, it seemed to work, and so, suddenly, Hard Rock seem to be more like the stuff you get at Blackpool, after being left in the sun a bit too long!  You know, a bit like Marilion – Soft Rock!

Now the Goy boys were ‘giving it large’, as they say, in History, this morning!  Saying how Brothers United were going down!  Saying how they would ‘shoot to score; shoot to win; shoot to kill!’, and how they were ‘Marching to Zion!’  It so happens, their History teacher plays for ‘The Brothers’ (as we like to call ourselves!), and he just smiled and told them to be careful.  The teacher fancies himself as a bit of a striker – a sort of modern day 45 year old Gary Lineker, but tonight, he played full-back for the whole game!  These Goy boys, are pretty quick, but unfortunately the shoot to score/win/kill, failed them tonight, and they were held to a 0-0 draw.  A good result for Brothers United to kick-start their campaign with.

The last game involved the Super Subs and the Super Bullets.  Now the Bullets scored three, but fired more blanks than the Territorials!  Whereas the Subs, really were Super.  After conceding a 2-0 advantage, they came back to win 5-3, helped by 13 year old Elliot Robertson in goal.

Missionary kids, and excellent goalkeepers!  Elliot (Amy Knight,) and Murray Robertson.
And it was another Robertson who came out as tonight’s star player.  Murray Robertson played the full 30 minutes in goal for Brothers United, keeping a clean sheet, and saving a penalty!
