Four Greatest Days; One Great Afternoon

Well, it did rain again, and quite heavily, but today we were not to be put off.  Kajjansi called, and we answered.

We didn’t have our normal Zana Presbyterian bus, so instead to two taxis (of the Toyota minibus variety).  We unloaded in the normal place, and again opened with singing.  Daphine led the first song, then Edrine led the men in the second (that is the one I will attempt to upload onto the blog).  As the group sang, you will see from the short video that a local market trader behind them, joined in.  In fact, many passers-by, including grown men, joined in – it’s such a wonderful sight.  Also, a young Muslim girl drew in to sing and listen.  Her name is Zahara.  She loves singing and going to church, and has many friends in the church, but cannot decide which way to choose: Islam or Christianity?  In the photo below, you can see Angel and Daphine talking to Zahara and her sister (I think).  Angel reminded Zahara that Jesus said, He was the way, the truth, and the life, and that no-one comes to the Father except through Him.  This might sound a bit hard to some ears, but if what Jesus says is true, it needs to be taken into serious consideration by all who say they want to sit on the fence on such issues.

Angel (this week's photographer) and Daphine (who gave me my first bit of birthday cake) talk with Zahara
So once the singing had finished and Edrine had shared his testimony, Aaron, Frank and myself headed down into the High Street to preach the gospel.  As you will see from some of the photos below, I’m using the new board William made for me (the dark splashes in the corner are his blood, I think!).  It’s a great board, as it’s light enough for anyone to hold, so we just set up in the middle of the road, near a group of teens and twenty-somethings.  One of the stall-holders (Matove) began heckling us, and even acquired a load-speaker to lay on the ground right in front of us!  I didn’t care, I just carried on, and as you can see, we had a very profitable time talking with him afterwards.  He said he was born a Catholic and would die one too!  He said he confessed his sins and that was enough!  He had no assurance of Heaven when he dies, but said he was grateful to hear that many people in England would be praying for him (so that’s one for your lists)!

Matove's loud-speaker and shoes (and no, I wasn't after a decent pair!)
Frank reasons with Matove

Well, I preached about the Four Greatest (or most significant) Days in World History: The Day of Creation; The Day of Death (when Adam fell); The Day of Salvation (today and at the cross); and the Day of Judgement!  And what a crowd we had, at least twenty men heard the whole presentation of the gospel message, including women and children (as Matthew would say!)  And then afterwards, many, many conversations (something we’d prayed and exhorted one another about), with many requests for prayer, and salvation!

Chatting with Paolo
Judith cried all through the preaching.
She appeared to have many problems.
Please pray for her

John (left) and his friend, asked what church they should go!
Andrew (in orange) and Ronald listened to the whole presentation of the gospel.
After our chat, Andrew asked for prayer, that he might know God, and Jesus as his Saviour.
Please pray for both boys.

Please continue to pray for this work.
Please continue to pray for Praisegrace Joy (PGJ), our regular worker and photographer, whose leg is bad, and whose brother is still recovering.
Pray that God will provide us with our own bus.
Pray that the people of Kajjansi will continue to open their hearts to us and the gospel.
Pray the Muslims will not rise up against us.  We heard some pre-recorded preaching being blasted out today!
Pray God will help us to provide concrete church links with those we encounter.  We have links in Kajjansi, but they are not necessarily solid.
Pray for those mentioned in this report and previous ones.  On our way back, we bumped into Sali Swahib, who seemed pleased we remembered him.  He was with another, older man, who appeared hostile toward us, so we said we would catch up, next time.  He seemed pleased with that.

Every blessing, Sean
Enjoy the photos!

Aron (our prayer warrior, on the left), prays with Pius, as Frank perseveres with Matove
Aron again praying, this time with Daphine's help (I don't know the man's name)
